Finding Beauty in New Beginnings
By Dagmar – stylist, dreamer, eternal believer in fresh starts
Goodbyes are often dressed in melancholy. A soft ache, a little tug at the heart, the echo of moments we’d love to hold onto forever. But here’s the thing I’ve learned: every goodbye carries a little hidden gift. A secret “hello” waiting on the other side.

When you pause long enough, you can feel it. That shimmer of possibility that comes only when something ends. It’s as if life gently clears the canvas, giving us permission to play again. To try new colors. To let fresh ideas dance across the walls and floors of our imagination. Just like the sun returns and paints new shades that swirl across your walls, turning your room into a living canvas of light. For me, this is where the good in goodbye begins.
The Blank Page Magic
There’s nothing quite as thrilling as a blank page — or in my case, a blank room. No rules, no clutter of yesterday, just space. Pure, open, waiting-for-you space. It’s the kind of freedom that whispers: go ahead, start again.
Do you see it too? That sunny corner begging for linen curtains, the walls ready for soft sand hues, the floors dreaming of warm wooden textures. Every empty space feels less like loss, more like invitation.

Carrying Stories, Making Room for More
Of course, I’ll always carry the little treasures collected along the way: the sun-bleached stones from a faraway shore, the thrifted vase with the perfect chip in its side, the seashell that insists on sitting under glass. These are my storytellers. My continuity.
But the beauty is in how they meet the new — how they surprise me in different corners, on different shelves, under a new kind of light. The familiar becomes fresh again.

Styling the Hello
Here’s the joy: goodbye doesn’t mean erasing. It means layering. It means blending old loves with new discoveries until the space hums with life again. It’s the slow, tender act of placing one piece at a time until the atmosphere feels right.
And oh, that moment when it clicks — when the linen throw, the wooden table, the soft afternoon sun all conspire together and suddenly the room sighs, “yes, this is home.”

So maybe goodbyes aren’t the end after all. Maybe they’re simply nature’s way of giving us the gift of beginning again. Of reminding us that change is where creativity thrives.
And if that’s the case… then I’ll keep finding the good in every goodbye. Always.
And between us — I have a feeling there’s a whole new canvas waiting just around the corner.
But more on that… very soon.
With love,
Dagmar
