The Last Golden Days of Summer
By Dagmar – stylist, designer, seeker of light.
The end of summer is in sight. You can feel it in the way evenings soften, mornings grow calmer, and the light slips through the windows with that unmistakable golden glow.
Still, the days remain warm, the skies clear, and it feels as if summer is whispering:
just a little longer.

This is the moment I love most. When time seems to stretch and the simplest things—an open window, a soft breeze, the sound of birds—become treasures. It’s the season of slowing down, of soaking in every last ray of sun before it fades.
Inside my home, I let that summer spirit linger. A neat stack of magazines on the coffee table. Seashells gathered under glass cloches. Linen and wood—the materials I always return to—keeping things calm, natural, timeless. It doesn’t take much. Just a few thoughtful details can carry the light, airy mood of summer straight into the heart of your home.

Outside, the rituals are even sweeter. Cushions on the patio. A tray with refreshments — or maybe wine. Lanterns glowing when the sun dips low, turning the garden into a golden retreat. These small, tender moments are what make the season feel endless, even as the calendar insists otherwise.

And while the world already hums with talk of fresh starts and autumn plans, I find myself holding on. Not rushing ahead. Not letting go too soon. Styling, after all, isn’t only about change. Sometimes it’s about cherishing. About pressing pause on beauty, and saying: stay, just a little longer.

So here’s to late summer. To warm light. To breezy fabrics. To seashells and open windows.
May these golden days live on in our homes and in our hearts, even as the seasons turn.
Please do tell me—what is your favorite season, and why?
I’d love to hear.
